Four miles east of San Rafael on the shore of San Pablo Bay. From Highway 101, go east on North San Pedro Road for five miles until it enters the park.
We saw a bunch of turkeys in the morning! Looked like 3 different types. Very cool. Great views.
We've been going to China Camp since the 70's. Much more restrictive now but for good reason. Good the the Parks system taking after the place. The scenery, bay, and wildlife give off great vibes. Good place to take your dogs and have a family picnic.
They have picnic tables so you can bring your own food. You are right up on the water. There is a little history there you can read about on plaques. The water was warm and it was sort in a little cove so it felt super safe. We have an inflatable boat and kayak, easy entrance into water, we had so much fun. Rocks, not sand.
Five stars for a five star trail system…😂😂
Great place for mountain biking, on the shoreline trail and other trails connected to it. As a beginner mountain biker, I was a bit afraid of the technicality and the physical endurance required. However the trails here turned out to be ideal for beginners with not too much technicality and lots of flat surfaces, there are uphills too, but these are quite easy to handle.
Visit here for a great time on your bike. There are restrooms in the parking lots and the camp grounds, they do charge a small fee for using the trail system, which is totally worth it.
Historic, beautiful, and a nice place to stop and have a snack. Lots of people riding bikes, so be aware while driving. Most parking and picnic areas ask $5 self-pay. A lot of people park off the main road and ride bikes, I stopped by the Ranger Station and purchased a trail pass since this park receives no funding!
