I have nothing but the best things to say about this campground. The location, the cleanliness, and the service are all superior to any campground I have ever visited (I’ve camped my whole life) not a single fly in sight, the cleanest bathrooms..the list goes on. Not to mention the beautiful family history and passion that drives it’s pristine condition. We will be back, probably for years to come. Thanks again to Chris for his dedication to the grounds and all things family & outdoors.

Schoolhouse Canyon is a beautiful campground nearly hidden among groves of redwoods and eucalyptus trees. The facilities are clean, the sites are well-spaced, and the atmosphere is peaceful. If your idea of camping is to get drunk and be loud until midnight, this is not the place for you.

Hot showers and firewood are available for purchase, and tubes are available for rent.

River access is a 5-minute walk across River Road and down a beautiful path through the riparian forest to a lovely pebble beach with plenty of shade and a couple picnic tables. The water is deep enough for swimming and floating, but there is enough shallow water for wading. There is a path upriver that leads to a spot you can put in your tube for a 30-minute float back down to the beach. There are also stand-up paddle-board rentals and lessons available.

Guerneville is a 10-minute drive from the campground for supply runs, entertainment, and some really great food and wine.

Importantly, the property has been in the family for generations, and you can tell that the ownership takes great pride in providing an authentic, nostalgic camping experience for their guests. This was my first time camping here, but it won't be my last.

Great campground! Chris, it’s host, is very friendly, helpful, and courteous. He also politely but assertively enforces reasonable rules that ensure the experience is a safe and peaceful experience for everyone.

Super clean, well-structured and just stunningly peaceful camping site.

Chris and Corina were so helpful and friendly throughout our stay. They had great café and food recommendations in the nearby towns as well as suggestions for day-time activities such as tubing, golfing and hiking. We followed their advice and a had a fantastic time.

The camping sites were super clean and always with a picnic table and fire ring. We felt "far away enough" from our neighbors, but at the same time appreciated not being completely remote.

The bathhouse was clean, had all the necessary supplies and perfectly central.

We heard birds, saw a turkey strolling around and felt well-protected from the sun thanks to the beautiful trees.

We look forward to coming back and enjoy this beautiful campground with our family and friends.

Thanks again Chris and Corina!

Came to check out the place. Beautiful campground. the host was very odd and dismissive. When we inquired about reserving multiple campsites for our family, the host stated that “ we cant have more than 8 people that know each other here due to the potential for noise”. ?? So if you are coming with a family or children or more than 8 people that have met before or anything that may potentially “disturb their echo chamber” I suggest you look elsewhere. Also pricey.. $48 for 2 people and $7 per additional person. Such a shame it is such a beautiful campground.
