Located on Highway 90 or 98, two miles west of Spanish Fort in southwest Alabama.
This place is so clean and well maintained. And I love the little pier and boat launch at dawn, the ospreys, and the gators.
Not much here but a campground and boat launch.
But they have an awesome boardwalk through the water and some grassland. Awesome bird watching and probably gators in warmer weather.
My husband and I attended the First Day Hike at Meaher this year! Chloe led the hike and we had a lot of fun getting to know the park’s biodiversity and exploring a trail. Plus, we caught the sunset over Mobile Bay. You could tell Chloe loves what she does, and it was awesome to learn from someone so passionate about her work! Pro tip: bring cash to pay for park entrance if it’s later in the day!
I rate this park on beauty a 5 star. Fishing 5 star also. Our campsite 1 star (campsite 20), because it rained several times, got my shoes and pants soaked wading in setting water. Campsites were far enough apart so 4 star in distance.Traffic noise was loud and awful, but not their fault. The boardwalk was beautiful another 5 star. This place was close to shopping and 5 Rivers Delta (They are 5 star). Now another 1 star because it looked good when we got there on Saturday, they never cleaned again until Wednesday. There were issues that needed to be addressed. The laundry gets 5 star. The shower gets 1 star, no way to regulate water temp or flow. Water was cold, cold for several minutes, then almost scalding hot. It WAS scalding hot at times. If passing through need overnight spot no shower and it’s not raining, a decent spot.
