The electrical system for the campground is terrible. We tested 3 different sites and all 3 tripped the breaker on the pole. At the campgrounds before and after this we were/are fine. Trying to get someone to talk to is an even bigger joke. Avoid this place!
Yellow hammer is in the perfect location. It is a halfway point for our trips back and forth to Florida. Very clean quiet and SAFE. The staff are amazing. Just a good down home American family owned campground. Great job Yellow Hammer. Keep up the great work. Love your booking website as well. Fast and easy.
This was our 2nd time to stay at Yellowhammer. It is the perfect stop over point for us on our way to the Gulf. The Web site is easy for booking and you just show up and pull in. We always get a pull thru since we don't disconnect our truck. The pull thru sites are long enough for our truck, 42-1/2 foot 5th wheel, and car behind the camper. See y'all again soon.
Convenient stop for an overnight right off the highway. Some highway noise but to be expected for convenience to the highway. We had a site reserved, but received a phone call the day before that there was an "issue" and someone else had to move into our site therefore we were being relocated - no big deal. Upon arrival the trailer in our site was a long termer - you could tell from the pile of "stuff" around the camper. Our site had full hook ups but unfortunately no fire pit and no picnic table??? There is a metal fence all the way around the pond with only access via a long dock on the other side of the pond away from the campground. So the water access sites is kind of a joke unless you enjoy sitting at your campsite and looking at the pond through the metal bar fence. As others have noted you have to drive through a modular home sales yard to get to the other side of the pond where to the RV sites are. Bathhouse is nice and clean overall. They state of their website the fastest internet in the state - if that's true I pity the rest of Alabama. Overall an OK spot for an overnight with lots of long term campers.
Clean RV campground right off interstate. You can definitely hear the road traffic but that's to be expected due to it's location. The showers and bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Showers were nice and hot. Would definitely stay again if we come back this way
