While the park is closed, residents should note that the nearest alternate boat launch is at William Brooks Park, located at 601 US-43, Chickasaw, AL 36611. The nearest Mobile County RV campground is River Delta Marina and Campground, 2350 Dead Lake Road, Creola, AL 36525; reservations may be made by calling 251-574-2266.
Park renovation includes infrastructure work like water, sewer and roadwork as well as construction of an events and interpretive center, playground/splash pad area, RV campground, parking areas, boat ramp, additional disc golf holes, and new restroom facilities. Once it reopens, Chickasabogue will have improved amenities including its trails, basketball courts, restrooms, pavilions, RV camping sites and generally enhanced park infrastructure.
Chickasabogue Park is an 1,100-acre outdoor recreation facility and wildlife refuge in Eight Mile, Alabama. The park is less than 15 minutes from downtown Mobile and provides a wide variety of outdoor activities in a natural setting while protecting the environment and preserving the diversity of indigenous plants and animals. The park has about 17 miles of hiking and biking trails, a disc golf course, sports fields, a boat launch, RV campgrounds, and a beach on Chickasabogue Creek, which connects the park to Mobile Bay.
Chickasabogue Park improvements are part of Mobile County Commission’s multi-year, $40 million parks improvement initiative that includes $35 million for increased public access to water.
Mobile County Commission’s parks improvement initiative is made possible through funding generated by the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act (GOMESA). Authorized uses of GOMESA funds, generated through Alabama’s offshore oil and gas drilling leases, include conserving, protecting and mitigating the impact of such activity by implementing a federally-approved conservation plan. Part of the local conservation plan is to increase public access to shoreline recreational areas, such as along the Chickasabogue Creek.

Yes this was an awesome place but not anymore the bathrooms aren't taken care of nor do the mobile county employee's care about the park this place would be a great place to be if the money was actually spent on the parks some how and for some reason money continues to get lost or" misplaced " so they say. Can anyone say that they see enough improvement for a 1million dollar budget every year. which they have been getting for sometime now. please let me know what you think.
Haven’t been here in years, decided to go by Sunday morning. Not much has changed over the years. The new walking path is nice and the bike trails are always fun. Still a good place for a quick something to do complete with five star people watching!
I really love this park. It has a wonderful swimming area. After swimming it has a nice shower area so you can wash and change. Adults cost a dollar and children are free. You can't beat the price. It has wonderful picnic areas with grills close to the water. The park is very clean and well maintained. Security are wonderful . A place you must visit.
Beautiful park, we camped in a primitive site right on the water. The lady that was there when we checked in was very nice. It was very nice but we could hear a lot of background noise, traffic and we could hear the football game and band. We wanted to rent canoe's but the coastal cleanup had them all rented on Saturday and when we went up to rent one Sunday they were short staffed and we couldn't get one we were a little disappointed but we still had a good weekend. My children were a little disappointed too because the swing sets had no swings. All in all a nice weekend

Yet my review date is 01.14.24 and NOTHING done to the beach area yet.
