About Campground

4B Farm has now become 4B Farm & Campground and is back open year-round!

4B Farm is a great destination for the outdoor enthusiast whether it’s trailriding

on your horse or floating the waters of Badin or Uwharrie in your boat, kayak or canoe!

One thing that hasn’t changed is that 4B is still proud to be part of the Cowboy Church Network by partnering with 4B Chapel to continue church services on the premises Sunday mornings. The Cowboy Church Network’s Jeff Smith is here on the 1st and 3rd Sundays to speak God’s word and previous owner, Larry Blackburn, continues to return on 2nd and 4th Sundays with God’s word. I had a great first time camping at 4B Farm and Campground. We lucked out with amazing weather that always makes for good camping and riding, but the facility and amenities made the weekend a no brainer. The premises are kept clean and tidy. We used a stall at the main barn, the bath house, firewood and fire ring available for purchase/use, a camping cabin and a campsite. The trails are accessible right at the end of the campground. This was my first time riding Uwharrie National Forest. I was told it was rocky, but I’m used to Southern Missouri rocky. So yes, the trails are rocky at times and sole protection definitely recommended. However, there are plenty of areas that are beautiful dirt single track either great footing or with tree roots more than rocks. If you aren’t used to riding mountains, there are some trails labeled “easy” that have decent climbs. Nothing for those used to riding mountain trails but maybe not “easy” if you come from flatter areas. Service is not great. I used Equilab to track my mileage along with a picture of the trails. There is a trail map at the campground office that you can take a picture of, but I also found one online o saved to my phone. The trails on also available on two trail apps… I just didn’t have them downloaded and felt comfortable with my map images. There are water crossing on the trails, but I was told when it is dry water can become scarce. That being said, some strategy is planning your ride is a good idea! There are miles and miles of trails. In two days, I rode 16 miles and barely touched most of the trails available. I definitely hope to return and see some of the trails I wasn’t able to ride this trip.

First time to the area. We were suppose to come in on Thursday traveling over 7 hrs. . But got a late start we called to let them know we would be in at 11. He did not bother to ask why we got a late start one of our friends trailer had break issues. 3.5 hrs before were suppose to arrive we called to let them know and he told us we would have to wait til next morning which meant we had to leave our horses on the trailer overnight after. We arrive today to be turned away because we had only last yrs coggins. I showed him mine and told him hers was done at by same vet at the same time. But that was not good enough. We called the vet and she told us she could send them but not right away. We were told we could not unload. Now he could have made us quarantine our horse away from others but instead we were turned away.

Side note. When pulling up to camp you see a bunch of corrals rusted and over grown. Not sure I wanted to stay anyways

However canebrake camp is allowing us to use the over flow since he had no sights available and was willing to allows to show the coggins once vets sent them.

Campground and facilities and were pretty nice. Was disappointed that I needed about 50' of hose to reach a spigot (1 spigot for about every 4 to 6 sites) and probably 30' of cord to reach the outlet, but was able to make it work.

What really upset me was the guys attitude in the office as I pulled in. His attitude would get a 1 star review. There was no sign saying where to stop and I was meeting other folks there. As I was driving by looking for them to see what I needed to do to check in he was yelling at me. I stopped to see what was going on and he says "who are you?" Then says "well what about coggins on that horse, do I have it?!" (All said with a hateful tone)

I walked in and apologized for not knowing what to do since I had never been there. He said that the folks I was meeting should have called and told me. If anything they should have called and warned me he was going to have an attitude. From what I hear, luckily for him the previous owners built a decent campground.

Also have to ride the road some to get to trails. Watch out for the people who won't slow down!

Edit: Now 1 star, because of the rude response I received for my honest review.

The site was rented in my girlfriends name. The others in my group also had issues reaching the outlets and we had to move trailers/cords around to make them reach. They also commented to me about the guys attitude. Maybe they can get him a sign that says "Office, Stop Here" or hire someone more friendly to work there.
