Vista Green is located just south of Traverse City, Michigan in Kalkaska County right off US-131 and Larson Rd.
Quite clean Great rates walling distance to fishing store Bar and Restaurant. First time here and will for sure to come back!! Very nice Park.
There is no wifi even though it is advertised, before we were there we were told that if our spot was taken take any other spot, so we did, after 4 days we were told we had 1 hour to move for someone else to take the place we had. No warning, we had to move, so all I can say is they lie to you whenever they can. Will never stay there again. The only reason we stayed there was my sister was a block away.
We have been camping here since it opened
This years, with COVID, I think more people found it. I have always been able to call and reserve a site over the phone and drop a check into the pipe. The WIFI didn't work the first year/wasn't hooked up. Each year there have been improvements and more people discovered it. This year we have only been out one other time at site 4. One of our favorites! This week we are at site 10. No WIFI and the cable doesn't work. We did notify the township and they said, "Must be the wind (for the WIFI) and no one else complained about the cable." No remedies or attempts to fix it. Left a 2nd message on the supervisor's voice mail. No reply. We are able to get about 10 channels off the antenna. Kinda disappointed in the township. Will send this from town since the cell reception is so poor in Republic. 2022 camping season and the trucks hauling from the mining observation area starting at 5am and the front-end loader back up beeping is most annoying 🙄. Really? You have to haul at 0500?!?
Very nice campground! Very tranquil quiet and private. We stayed in pull back site #6; it faces the river which is very nice. We stayed over labor day weekend, all other campgrounds were booked and found this charmer on accident and glad we did. Our site was paved with water and power hookup (pull back site). Nice fire pit with grilling grates. Very clean grounds. No attendants on duty.
Located in historic Republic mining town along the river. Town doesn't have much going on. About 30 minutes from Marquette Michigan for big box shopping needs. Next to bike / atv trails and river for fishing.
If looking for private tent sites this campground has very secluded private sites available. You really feel separated from your neighbors.
We stayed with 3 kids. While their are no pools or entertainment they kept busy exploring the surrounding forest.
We stayed a week and it was too long. There were kids on 4 wheelers and dirt bikes that were not campers, tearing around and going in and out of the campground until way after midnight. No one patrols it and they must know it. After regular working hours it started and seemed never ending. We were in # 8 and they had to ride past us every time to get back to their “party” spot. Would not recommend this place to anyone that wants to get any sleep. And 5:00am the trucks started hauling. So dissatisfied and disappointed
