Located east from US10/M37 on North Avenue north of the Village of Baldwin. Look for a brown “State Forest Campground” sign marking the turn. In 0.8 miles the road will turn north on Merrillville Rd. Follow Merrillville Road about 0.6 miles to 40th.
Cute little spot in the woods. Decent size sites and trails to walk, just watch for the fallen trees. Close enough to stores to get those 'oh I forgot to pack...' items and of course, coffee. Also a cute creek running along side the site.
Love the place, but thank you to the lady who was just here who took my dog and cat food and my cats leash. I drove 8 hours to visit with my kids and brought their kitty, and now their kitties leash is gone. So FYI, if you stay here, don't expect anything of yours to be still here if you run to the store, which is 5 minutes away. Thanks for taking my kids' leash for their kitty!!! I guess that's what I get for thinking a few small things would be okay, and no one would touch it. What happened when people would just leave what is not theirs alone!?
Only part I didn't like was no potties for you youngster we had to leave sooner. Was very pleased in the area took soon good pictures of Grandson and I
