The Wind River Lake Picnic Site has a vault toilet, four picnic tables, and pull through parking. Drinking water is not available. Ativities nearby include fishing, hiking, and photographing scenery and wildlife.
From Dubois, take U.S. Highway 26/287 northwest for about 29 miles.
Beautiful little area to pull over and stretch and enjoy nature!
This is a beautiful lake set in the high mountains, super views, and a great place for a picnic, rest room plus well stocked with trout, super place to take the family for a picnic and let the kids fish, enjoy , you won't be disappointed
So scenic! There are limited spots to fish and picnic but it’s worth a quick stop to see the lake and stretch your legs if passing by. There is 1 vault toilet available and you have to pack out your trash.
