About Campground

We have 50 acres - our nearest neighbor is 1/2 mile away. Our campground is our home - we are not commercialized. When you stay at our campground, you are family! Our guests are spread out and there is plenty of room big rigs. All of our sites are pull through. Our tipi is located quite a ways from other sites. It is an authentic Native American tipi.

We purchased our property because of its location - nestled in the valley with the Wind River Mountain Range to the West and the Owl Creek Mountain Range to the North. It is located just off the beaten path - so, it's very quiet, private and safe. Many of our guests are on their way to or from Yellowstone and the Jackson Hole area. Some of our guests will camp at our place and take day trips to places nearby - Thermopolis, Dubois, Lander, South Pass City, etc!

In 1983, Jim and I purchased our property - which, was simply a bare piece of ground with lots of sagebrush. We built our arena first, started hosting team roping and barrel racing jackpots (our last event was held in 2017 - due to Jim's health issues). The 2017 Great American Eclipse was a game changer! We were dead center of the path of totality. We opened our place to guests. It turned out that our place was ideal for viewing the Eclipse! We really enjoyed hosting guests that came from 10 different countries and 22 different states - we enjoyed it so much we decided to turn our place into a campground - hence the name Jim Moss Arena Campground! We have met so many wonderful people and we absolutely love hosting guests!

Wow! We needed a quick overnight in route to Tetons and decided to try this campground. Beautiful. Wish we could of stayed longer! Lots of space and the people that were around were so friendly. Didn’t get to meet the hosts but heard they are very friendly. I definitely got that feeling while on the phone with them. A definite must stay if passing through.

I couldn't have had a more gracious host when visiting Jim Moss Arena last month. This was day 2 of a 15 day camping trip across 6 states with my best friend.

Would stay again! We told her we’d be arriving after dark and she made sure to meet us and show us where to set up camp! Super helpful and a view of the mountains!

What a nice place to stay. I stayed for one night in my tent and felt very safe. I was soo happy to find out there was a shower, and it was cute and clean. The host is a wonderful woman, good conversation and made sure I was alright. At night it was very quiet and I was able to sleep a solid 9 hours. I would recommend this place to anyone!

A peaceful campground with kind owners. The views are spectacular, and there are lots of cool rocks to be found. Their dog, Grizz, is wonderful. The horse, pony, cows, chickens, and ducks were also lovely to be around. We came in the beginning of winter, so the bathhouse was closed, but I'm sure in season it's just as nice as the rest of the campground! Decent wifi was also available, and it worked perfectly for my son's homeschooling. Not too far from town, or the hotsprings state park. I hope we can visit again someday!
