Normally my Uncle Art Stringham and the bar owner Lita Price are the only permanent residents here, but we just added my mother and her husband. Lost Springs was once a booming rail town.
Nice place to camp but beware because a massive sprinkler system comes on and stays on from 1am to 4am.
You can ask them to turn it off at the Lost Bar across the street, or ask where is a safe place to camp.
Also, it says not to drink the water, but the locals say it is actually very good water, the sign is just there to add to that authentic hostile Wild West feel.
This was a great stop on our road trip! The park is so well-maintained! It was a great place to get out and stretch our legs with beautiful scenery
Cute little park with nice grass. The steel slides get very hot, so beware of those. The settings and teeter totters were fun.
I don’t know if it’s true that their population is 6, but this little park—with restrooms—is welcoming for an overnight stay. We parked our 24-foot trailer and truck in the lot for 1 night. No one bothered us. Here’s why I’m docking 1 star: the freight train runs nearby at all hours. Every time it rumbled past us in the night, I woke up—maybe like 5 times. Also, there’s no gas station or any other amenities. Just be aware.
