They campground is a smaller one than we are used to, but it has all the amenities you will need. The grounds are very neatly kept. No play area for kids is the only downside that is the only reason for 4 stars or it would be a 5, but it is close to a lot of attractions and stores, so it is not a really big deal.
Wright's Orchard station is a small but well-kept campground. The sites are nice and sized, and the bathhouse was very nice. WE had a family emergency and had to leave the camper there for our daughter and grandson to stay in while we traveled back home. We called the owner and explained what was going on, and they were able to extend our stay until we could return. The owner of the campground retired from the railroad, as did several generations before him. Their son now works for the railroad. This is in the office to the campground along with numerous articles and pictures. One article told of a wreck back in the 1890s in which 56 passengers parished and 105 were injured. Quite a bit of history in this room.
Small park with close sites. The bathroom was very clean. We weren’t there to “camp”. We were in the area for a family gathering and a Curve baseball game, so we didn’t spend much time at the campground. The park is very convenient to most everything in the Altoona area. It was perfect for our purpose.
Lovely little campground. Close to lots, but can’t see or hear anything from the city / highway. Bathhouse is CLEAN - we usually just use the one in our trailer, but was happy to have this available and accessible. Owner is lovely. Guests all nice. Fees very reasonable and fair. Felt very safe and secure.
This campground is very well kept and clean! Yes it is small, we didn’t have a problem parking there we have a 35 foot trailer and full size pickup truck crew cab. They have firewood there didn’t buy. There was few people with dogs. A lot of stores and places to go eat out/shopping, car wash right there, etc. You can’t beat the price and the lady who owns it she walks around and there’s really nothing to do at the campground. And NO need to bring your golf cart here not big enough for that.
