About Campground

Open All Year Around and owned by the Runkle family, Hemlock Campground has Cabin Rentals along with RV and tent site locations. We have one of the best fishing creeks in the area. Enjoy the tranquility of nature as you fish for trout, bass, and more. We are conveniently located near a station where you may purchase a fishing license and have a fully stocked tackle shop on site. We also have two catch-and-release ponds, great for kids. Campers can also enjoy water activities, which include swimming and tubing in the creek. In the winter, enjoy snowmobiling right from your campsite as we are located right beside the southern potter snowmobile trail. There are also several ATV trails close by for your enjoyment.

On site we have three cabin rentals to accommodate from 4 to 12 people. Our cabins come fully furnished and stocked with your kitchen needs. Our RV sites provide 30 amp service with water and electric to each site. We have several tent sites located in the campground, several include a pavilion for you use. There are RV and Tent sites available along the creek. Check out the map to choose you camping location. Each campsite has a fire ring and a picnic table for your use. We also have dumping stations.

I stayed here for about 10 days and was pretty happy with the way the campground was laid out, with the staff and with the entire experience. The catch and release trout and separate bass ponds have a number of fish, and I caught a few about 30 feet from my tent. As I said, it's not a bad layout. The shower house has multiple individual ¾ bathrooms, so there is a maximum of privacy when you need the restroom or a shower. The staff were very helpful and were happy to assist with helping me with any concerns. One issue that I wasn't as happy with is that there is absolutely no internet service nor cell service unless you have Verizon. Which I do not. It's not completely a bad thing if you want a data free couple of days, but it was pretty inconvenient for me. That being said, the prices were comparable , the staff friendly and the layout very well done. I would definitely recommend them if you're looking for a place to camp. They have both tent and rv sites available. There is also a trout stream only a couple of minutes walk from the campground if you want to be able to keep some fish.

Very good experience.

Definitely recommend.

Beautiful and quiet getaway. The owners are very nice and helpful they even opened the store for us when they were closed. We got the bigger cabin on the campgrounds for two days and it was only 239 for both nights for full furnished cabin with pavilion. Awesome place for some r&r

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The bathrooms and showers were quite clean, and the campground in general was clean. This is a very dog-friendly campground. Verizon has good cellular coverage to the point I was able to get on a Zoom video conference. I was unable to get any service from AT&T. There was no wait to use the dump station when we left. The only problem I experienced was with some of the seasonal clientele. Several did not respect quiet hours and often played music so loud that 30 yards away I was having difficulty hearing my own music from a personal Bluetooth speaker. One seasonal had a profanity-laden flag expressing their views prominently displayed for all to see. I go on vacation to escape this sort of thing. But overall this is a good campground, especially if you want to explore Potter and Cameron counties and perhaps nearby Elk county. The Austin Dam is a must-see. If you're towing an RV, be sure to fill up with gas in Renovo, Coudersport, or on 120 just south of Stevenson dam. Gas stations are few and far between in this area.

The people that run this Campground are great and very kid friendly. Many events throughout the year directed towards child entertainment. Also great fireworks display. The real great thing is the stretch of Creek that runs along it that is excellent trout fishing and when it rains and the water is unfishable, they have two ponds full of bass pike and perch as well as some trout in there too. Fantastic place for family camping
