This campground was amazing! It is gated so there weren't outsiders just driving through. We had a full hookup site and there were many full hook-up sites in the park. The sites were pull through and nicely sized. There is a pond that is for fishing only, and another for swimming only. The seasonal sites looked really nice as well. Most were shaded and a good size. The shower houses were super nice and super clean, some of the best I've ever been in. You do have to pay for showers, a quarter for every 3 minutes. The park was very well kept and clean. We will definitely be going back. The prices were very fair for the quality of the park.
This was a nice large campground with ample room at each site. The atmosphere was very friendly with things to keep my grandson occupied. We will plan on future visits.
Spent the weekend there for a low key Bachelorette party, we were not loud and were doing about what everyone else was doing, listening to music sitting around a fire. Our group had 6 site all together and they put us on an end. Our group was following all the rules, we double checked. We were yelled at twice and threatened to be kicked out. Our music was "too loud" (you could not hear it the next camp site over) and it was also noon on a Friday, we were never disruptive after 11pm when the actual quiet hours started. The brides mom and friend went to talk to the office because the maintenance man continued to come over and yell at us even after we did whatever he asked the following few times he had been there.
A disappointment when we had booked this place a year in advanced and they were told it was going to be a lot of people coming and going because not everyone could stay all weekend. No one from the group will be going there again and I will warn any who asks, if you are not going to be silent the whole time you are there don't go.
I originally planned to camp at Geneva-on-the-Lake State park. Unfortunately, our site was rained out and I had to scramble to get another. I wanted to stay near Geneva and this camp is very close.
We were tent camping and this is mostly an RV camp. I would not recommend as a tent camp. Most of the sites are very close together with few trees (see Google Earth). The swimming lake has “gone back to nature”. Also, it costs money to use the showers…
Stay here:
1. To be close to Geneva attractions
2. Generally, a quiet place
3. Ok with not swimming (Crowd tends to be older with grown kids so that demographic does not care)
4. Not concerned with paying to use the showers. (I assume RV owners could care less)
5. An RV owner that needs hookups and likes pull-though sites.
6. Owner/front desk very friendly and helpful
Stay elsewhere as a tent camper or if you are looking for swimming. Also, read past reviews - do not come here to party loudly!
My co worker always spoke of how nice his camp ground was. He didn't exaggerate. Very peaceful, quiet & a nice change up from the city. I look forward to my next visit..
