Book these gems if you can! Cabins are perfect for 2-4 people and can accommodate up to 6 with the pullout couch. Amenities are lovely. Location is so easy to get to. Bathrooms are in a communal bath house with showers... Very clean. Cabins have electric heat (it runs warm...esp. for the person who sleeps in the top bunk 🔥) but no running water. Cabins are close together but with the dense foliage and well-designed layout, you really are fairly secluded. Each cabin comes with a cart to haul gear from the parking lot to the cabin. I heard owls and coyotes at night and I *think* I heard a fox yipping 😍
Amazing architecture!
My family of 5 slept great.
10yr old and 7yr old had the bunk. My wife and I had ad the fold out couch and my 2 yr old slept in a pack and play that we brought with.
The view of the prairie is breath taking as well as the huge amount of sky. Out house toilet very near. Also showers and full bathrooms are just a little further away.
Each cabin comes with a large wagon to get your gear from your vehicle to the cabin.
The most beautiful camper cabins we've ever been in. We stayed in the prairie cabins which are brand new. The view is beautiful over the prairie and the dusk firefly show was amazing. My son says it's cheating to stay there because there's AC and comfortable mattresses. We've stayed in the forest cabins as well and they're also very nice and you feel like you're in the trees as they're elevated.
Comfortable modern cabins with heat and electricity but no running water. The Prairie View Cabins also have air conditioning. Advanced reservations are required, but last-minute openings do happen. A shared restroom and separate shower rooms are kept clean by an attendant. We received several inches of snow overnight, and the paths and parking were cleared early in the morning. Views from the cabins ranged from deep woods to rolling open prairie. Nearby trails and paths lead deep into the park. There is a long sledding hill, play area, and picnic shelter a short drive away.
Despite facing the extreme cold of a polar vortex at -12°F, our stay at Whitetail Wood Camper Cabins was nothing short of exceptional. The cabin provided a warm, clean, and cozy refuge from the harsh elements outside. Despite the frigid temperatures, we braved the weather and enjoyed cooking steaks over the fire pit, adding an adventurous touch to our winter getaway. The overall experience was nothing short of amazing, and I can't wait to return to Whitetail Wood Camper Cabins for another unforgettable stay.
