Paint Rock Springs campground offers a variety of shaded and semi-shaded sites. Some are mowed sites, others are wooded. Good for mixed camping units (tents and smaller RVs or pop-ups). Adjacent to play area. 9 electric sites.
The campground is nice with nearby activities and hiking trails including a Nature Center. However for a state park the sites are somewhat small with no privacy and few trees. The campground is also a long distance in from the park entrance and many miles from the beach and playground. There is a modern restroom and shower building and a dump station with fresh water.
We stayed with 2 teenagers, 2 young adults 2 dogs, 2 adults and a 7 year old. We Camp old school with cast iron cooking, hiking, and fishing. We did it all. Plus the DNR had programs throughout the weekend. We stayed at site 104 and loved it. Enough room for the camper and the kids tent. Over all the kids and us had a great time and will be back again.
Spend a few days in a cabin here. The cabin was so nice! Much nicer than we had hoped for! It was clean, the bed was comfy. It had a cute kitchen w/ amenities fridge 4 burner stove and oven! Even an indoor flush toilet! We had am amazing time. Will definitely stay here again.
Embarking on my first camping journey at this site was an incredible decision. The natural beauty that enveloped me was awe-inspiring, and the well-maintained amenities ensured my comfort throughout. From waking up to the sound of birdsong to gazing at the star-studded sky, every moment was a new and enchanting experience. I'm grateful for this unforgettable start to my camping escapades!
