We went to Lake Stephen's for 4th of July celebrations. We spent the day swimming and enjoying the beach. The splash park is small but would be fun for smaller children. There were places for the adults to hang out. The beach is sand and the water is dirty green and the bottom was gross slimy. There was music playing and the fireworks show was great and the beach was the perfect place to see them. We didn't get to do the water float things this time but that looked fun. We brought a service dog but otherwise they weren't allowed.

So disappointed in this campground. The park itself is very beautiful, it’s the campground area. The hosts that checked us in we’re nice but truly offered no information as to amenities, until we asked specifically about amenity items. Not a huge deal really, this was just something I thought was normal.

Once we pulled though, we had no way of knowing until we got there and already paid for the week that all spots were “so” close. All cars were parked everywhere meaning lining the small street on both sides as well as parked on any and all grass spots. It seems that people keep (pay for a spot) their rvs here during the week and come back on the weekends. That's great for them - it just makes it difficult for travelers really.

With that said, we got out a day early because once everyone arrived on Friday we would be in a pickle to get out. And, let’s not forget about adults and kids playing up and until if not beyond midnight on all days. It was rough when I had to work the next day. I was a bit disappointed.

Updating my review due to the park reaching out and explaining a bit more. I truly appreciate that.

This place is somewhere no one should go to we had to leave because they wouldn’t let us put are tent there and we had kids that had to sleep there so we left unhappy I would not recommend this place to anyone

Edited

Told the lady we talked to three times we had rv plus tent before we even got there. Lady didn't tell us anything about a tent not being there. Even the security officer seen we had it and he was even told by us. He didn't even say anything then. Until 12am the next night. Paid for two nights!!

You going to tell someone with 7 kids all together they can't stay there. Of course your not. But guess what that night you did. And we had to break kids heart because of having to leave. It shouldn't matter how many kids are there or how many adults are there. All that matter was those babies having fun.We won't be back there. Very disappointed!!
