Located just off the [Highland Scenic Highway](https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/mnf/recarea/?recid=7011) this small developed campground is a perfect getaway for fisherman and hikers. Many of the 12 camping sites boarder the upper scenic Williams River and the campground is within walking distance of many popular trails. Each site is equipped with a wooden picnic table, lantern post, and fire ring. Several campsites also have a tent pad, although all sites are suitable for tent or trailer camping.
From Marlinton take US Route 219 north 7 miles to State Route 150, which is the [Highland Scenic Highway](https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/mnf/recarea/?recid=7011). Turn left onto Route 150 and drive 9 miles to the Williams River Bridge turnoff, located on the left. Turn right at the stop sign onto Forest Road 86 and drive 3 miles to the intersection of Forest Road 216. Take a hard right onto Forest Road 216 and drive 1 mile to Day Run Campground.
Its beatuiful and the boys had a blast and so did the adult we will come back
Only 1 camper in Day Run campground on Sunday. A nice rustic campground right on upper William's River.
So peaceful and quiet. The sites are well maintained and cost is minimal. Great place to relax.
If your looking to get away from all the hustle and bustle and PEOPLE! If you don't mind not haveing electric or water hook up! Then this place might be just for you! Day-run campground is located smack dab in the heart of mononghela National forest in beautiful Pochontas county West Virginia! Some campsites are less then 20yrds from the beautiful willams river that is renowned for its absolutely great trout fishing ! No more then a few miles away is the great Senic Highway ,Cranberry back country, and Cranberry Glades ! As long as it's not a holiday weekend most campers can expect to have the entire campground to their self! Yes day run is a little bit off the beaten path and yes there isn't anywhere within 20miles to take a shower or electric ! But hey Thts the way camping is supposed to be right?
There is few fresh water pumps and vault toilets the prices are fair and if your looking to jst get away, relax and maybe do a little fishing then I highly recommend camping here
We didn't stay here, but we stumbled upon this place on accident. Camp site was clean and well taken care of. Sites seemed nice but a tad on the small side. There was ample parking room for a camper or a vehicle or two
