This old fire tower have been on my radar for a while and I decided on my fiancée bday to visit two fire towers in the same day I started at Wayah bald fire tower and I finish my day at Wesser Bald fire tower on the Appalachian trail, there was a wedding 🎩 👰🏽 while I was visiting wayah bald so I try to be as respectful as I could and wrap things up, I wish I could have spend more time in this location.

Great place visit. Picnic area on site and spectacular view. The ride up the mountain was also spectacular.

Perfect for a picnic after a hike or just to lay in the sun and relax. The kids love it and it’s soooooo quiet with just the breeze and the birds to keep you company. It is about 10 degrees cooler than down on the main road so being a jacket or a blanket.

This place is beautiful 😍 Just a short hike up to the lookout tower and the view is Amazing 👏 a must see! They also have restrooms at the parking area. Nothing to brag about but clean and didn't smell.

Wayah bald never ceases to amaze. It's only a roughly 0.2 hike to the tower but the views are equally amazing from the parking area. There are picnic tables if you follow the road to the end and there is a public bathroom right next to the parking spots. The road can be a little bumpy on the way up so be mindful of your driving. Be sure to check out the historic cabin on the way up and the other bald just down the road. Overall this is a great stop with a good payoff for basically no work to get there. Family friendly and achievable for all ages. The path to the tower is paved so it is essentially handicap accessible.
