The Nason Creek Campground is located approximately 19 miles north of Leavenworth, Washington, and about one mile south of the Lake Wenatchee State Park. Set in old growth forest and in the Cascade foothills, Nason Creek is a popular destination.
In addition to being a prime location for hiking, fishing, swimming, horseback riding and mountain biking in summer and early fall, the Nason Creek area offers excellent skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling in the winter months. The campground is also a great base camp for day-hikers and overnight backpackers. Several access trails from the area give hikers the chance to create their own excursions, whether it be a day hike or an overnight trip. Anglers enjoy fishing for rainbow trout, cutthroat trout and kokanee salmon from boat or shoreline on nearby Lake Wenatchee.
The campground has 70 single sites and 3 double sites. Sites are all equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, and grills. Restrooms include flush toilets. Water is available in common areas.
Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest offers stunning scenic views, with high, glaciated alpine peaks, valleys of old growth forest and rugged shrub-steppe country making up the diverse landscape. Elevations range from below 1,000 feet to over 9,000 feet. Visitors to the area can expect many days of warm, sunny weather in the summer, and winters with clear skies and plenty of snow.
The surrounding undeveloped wilderness, clean streams and diverse forests support an abundance of wildlife, including deer, porcupine, native fish and migratory birds. Endangered and threatened species, including the Northern Bald Eagle, the Northern Spotted Owl, gray wolves and grizzly bears, also find havens in nearby ecosystems.
Visitors enjoy the North Cascades and Lake Wenatchee State Park. Guests can also explore the area's colorful railroad and mining history at the Steven's Pass Historic District, or hit the slopes at Steven's Pass Ski Area.

Good place. We got last FCFS spot.
In summers, you will have nearby lake and river both. Can enjoy all types of vibes.
We loved our stay here! The nature and surroundings are unbeatable. If the first few campsites are full, keep driving over the creek on the main road and there’s 20+ more sites that were wide open for us. The mosquitos are really bad unfortunately :/ We had to eat in our car or tent to avoid being bit. The location worked great for us to drive into Leavenworth during the day. Bathrooms were fine, and we had a campfire ban during our stay. I would recommend checking local restrictions.
We have been camping here for years and come back every year to our perfect spot in the West loop. Patty was our camp host this year and she was awesome. So nice and made sure we had what we needed. The bathroom was squeaky clean unfortunately the men's was down so everyone had to share one! Mosquitoes were out of control this year.
We were excited to get out, and the location seems great, but the mosquitoes swarmed us as we were setting up our tent. They were relentless and our natural repellent didn’t help. Half a dozen of them made it into the car with us so we moved along. Never experienced such bad mosquitoes in the PNW.
we stayed at site 24 and loved it. we originally booked another campground but it was too close to our neighbors so we chose this instead. plenty of space and privacy. it is closer to a road but hardly anyone drove on it at night. bathroom was clean with running water but no soap. also it’s cash only and they didn’t have change so make sure to check prices and what cash you have. i would come here again.
