Gatton Creek Campground is located on the south shore of Lake Quinault next to Gatton Creek, a small rainforest stream. Campsites and the picnic units are located along the shore of the lake with views across the water to the forested slopes of Olympic National Park. The area provides opportunities to swim and use non motorized boats nearby. There are 5 walk-in campsites that accommodate tents. There are also 3 picnic units. Nearest boat ramps are located at Willaby and Falls Creek Campgrounds. Access Gatton Creek Trail #888 from the trailhead across from the campground along South Shore Road.
From Aberdeen, WA travel north on US Highway 101 for 45 miles to the junction of the South Shore Road. Turn right (east) and proceed 2.8 miles on South Shore Road and turn left into the Gatton Creek Campground and Day Use parking area.
There are only 5 spots here but they are right on the lake. Not many amenities so if you aren't truly in to tent camping I don't recommend but it was perfect for us. It's a really beautiful area and it was quiet but we also came the second week of June so not quite camping season yet.
5 walk-in campsites. All first come first serve. The sign on the campsite might be flipped to "Reserved", but if there's no "paid" receipt/occupants, then it's available.
5 cute spots by the beach! FCFS! Paved parking lot. Clean pit toiles (1 ladies & 1 men) You park and then you Walk to your site. $25 dollars per night and 1/2 price for Seniors pass and Access pass.
A nearly perfect set of campsites directly on the water. Each site is pretty private, separated by bushes. Bathroom in the parking lot. Just up the street from the general store. Honestly maybe the most premium little campsite I've ever stayed at
