This place is a party place. Loud music, cars party everywhere. Lot of dogs barking. If your looking for a camping place just to stop over it's. Here. Unfortunately we won't be back. It would be nice to have a camp host

Did not stay here. Website was deceptive, as it showed the exact same pictures for the studio($170 night) as the kitchenett ($225 night) and it also showed winter rates (125 and 165 respectively) witch they are closed for the winter. But really wanted to stay so drove an hour and a half to check it out in person. Upon arrival 10 am found the store/check in counter with lights on and a sign on the door saying open at nine but door locked and no one in sight so went for a walk no big deal. It would appear that this place was half of what it once was. The pavilion was storing a bunch of beer vats the restaurant was closed (apparently for 6 yrs) and everything looked run down. Finally found someone back at the store and this is where my story ends as I am not in to making personal attacks but I will say this, not helpful at all. Needless to say did not book.

My husband, my dog, and I just got home from our first camping trip as a family (his first ever, my first in about 15 years), and we wanted to make sure to write a review for this place. We had an excellent time! We ended up booking here because the other campground we wanted to stay at stated very clearly on their website "we welcome dogs of all sizes and breeds! (Except pit bulls)." We were shocked and heartbroken, and the search continued until we found Mayfield. Not only did they not have any outdated breed biases, but they were so welcoming and genuinely happy to see and greet my sweet dog, to treat her kindly and not judge her based on media scare tactics. That really warmed my heart when I needed it most.

When we arrived, we found that someone had accidentally taken our camping spot that we had reserved. It wasn't management's mistake, it was the other customer. We didn't want them to go to the trouble of breaking down and moving all of their stuff, so we told management that we'd be fine with being reassigned to another spot. They gave us a free upgrade to a bigger spot "for the inconvenience." That was so nice and accommodating of them! They certainly didn't have to, but we really appreciated them going above and beyond for us.

All of the other visitors and residents were very polite, there wasn't any excessive noise at any time of day or night, and everyone seemed very respectful of the resort rules. There were a couple people with their dogs off leash (even though this is very plainly stated and strictly enforced that dogs must be on leash at all times), but that will catch up with them sooner or later.

We will definitely be back!

It is a clean and well kept park. We are the only ones in the park right now and it's nice. Visiting family. It is winter so we are not hooked to water or sewer. Just chilling. We are in a 40' RV.
