From jct I-19 & I-10: Go 10-1/4 mi E on I-10 (exit 270), then 1/2 mi S on Kolb Rd.
Stopped by this place to see if it might be good for a stay next winter. Decided to try the restaurant on grounds. Got very poor service at 1:30pm and the place was not busy. Maybe they want to discourage non-residents for eating there???
This review is not about the hotel. It is about the resort. It is now 100% owned by a faceless REIT called ELS Equity lifestyle. The resort was originally owned and built by a man named Ike. It had real humility and down home roots with so much to enjoy.
That no longer is the case. It is all about the almighty $$$.
It is completely faceless and soulless. All decisions are made from a corporate office in its ELS headquarters in Chicago. They even control the temperature in all the activity rooms from Chicago. There is no personal touch. Unless it comes from the Karen's in the resort. And i don't mean that in a friendly manner I mean it in a controlled over bearing, discriminatory way. If you are anywhere near the age of 55 steer clear. The mentality of the Karen's is certainly from the 1950's era. Management cares nothing about the community only the profits unlike the man Ike who built it. They allow the Karen's to bully people and do nothing to curb it. Absolutely nothing. The worst group of people I have ever experienced is the Voyager Pickle Ball board people. They openly bully anyone and discriminate against people with disabilities. Again mangers do nothing and say they don't care what goes on in the community, it's not for them to deal with. I personally was harmed because of my service dog.
If you have a disability save your sanity and try elsewhere. Nobody here will protect you, especially if someone says you swore. Yep the 1950's.
If you have a service dog do NOT come here , they will treat you miserably.
If you have PTSD do not and I say this from the bottom of my heart do not come here. They do not recognize this in anyone.
If you have an invisible disability do not come here. Again it is not recognized.
If you visited this place a few years ago, it is no longer the same.
As a retired professional who has dealt with some of the worst in humanity I can honestly say that you can have a happier and healthier experience elsewhere.
We live at an Encore resort in Donna, Texas (Victoria Palms), and this one put ours to shame. The manager says corporate won't let us have AEDs due to liability, yet Voyager has 8. Their staff was so friendly and informative. The grounds were clean and well kept. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It was wonderful, so many amenities, the restaurant and bar had good food and the price was good.
I wish I could give six or seven stars! This place is OUTSTANDING!!!! Everyone was extremely friendly! Shout out to the maids, Ashley and Renee! They were extremely friendly and professional! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! The pineapple upside down cake at Fat Willy's is food orgasm!
***Long time RVing/Stayed here for approx. 3 months in winter***
[I booked too late in the year for Tucson, and I would have preferred a basic park instead].
*LOTS; decently sized sites with leveled gravel and a concrete pad to park on with a concrete picnic table. Has a raised curb to get up onto the site. EXPENSIVE, especially if you are NOT using the resort services.
*Site Utilities; Rock solid power/sewer/water. No problems to speak of. I have Verizon service and it's well covered in this area. LAUNDRY was among the best I've been to in close to 10 years living in RV parks. (Loved the no hassle card/no coins)
*Staff friendly considering it's a huge place. People are largely friendly. This is a 55+ park. The park is quiet after the sun goes down. There is a security presence in the park that is noticeable.
