Great place to connect with nature and naturalist men. We had a great time at our first “Burning Bear” weekend. Exceptional staff, fantastic food and friendly down to earth guests. Coming back for “Wish Bone” Thanksgiving weekend.

This is quite the place. Beautiful night skies where you'll be wondering what all you're able to see in the sky be it there is no light pollution like the city produces. This is in the cut so bring bug spray. The bar is beautiful and the keep is very professional and courteous. There is lots of fun places to find and explore, even more fun with the people you'll meet or bring. Definitely a return worthy trip.

This place is a haven of peace and quiet. It is 25 miles to the nearest anything, so bring what you need.

It calls itself a resort, but much of it is still solidly rustic, but there is a steam room, their masseur is top notch (he isn't there all the time), the chef puts out a very limited but top notch menu and the drinks are poured strong.

The wildlife is stunning. Deer, Turkey, racoon, alligator, opossum, eagles, hawks, owls, if you are remarkably lucky the Florida Panther and rarely a black bear. Uncountable varieties of birds and butterflies.

There is a variety of places to stay from primitive cabins to a 3br house, many 50 Amp RV sites, and all the tent space you could want.

Yes, you can get plenty of alone time, or you can join a party that might get a bit wild. Your choice.

Most of the weekends find plenty of people around the pool, but there are miles and miles of trails to wander as well.

A fantastically equipped store at the lodge for most anything vital you might have forgotten, although if you smoke, better bring them as it is at least a 40 mile round trip to restock.

The staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome, don't hesitate ask them for anything.

Life would be less fun without this refuge.

I have been to Vitambi Springs a number of times, but this is the first time I have ever stayed in the Blue Heron. My friend and I really enjoyed it. He stayed in the master bedroom. I stayed in bedroom number two. My only complaint was my bed was like sleeping on concrete. I'm just used to a soft squishy bed, and it was super firm. Everything was great! And the food was excellent the staff and everyone couldn't be friendlier and more pleasant.

Absolutely in the middle of nowhere! The way a nature resort should be. Fantastic! We even saw a deer just several feet away from us. Friendly and accommodating staff, a well stocked gift shop/store and a surprisingly great restaurant. A very well maintained swimming pool with a large patio and chaises. Great atmosphere. I can't wait to go back.
