Offering both sunny and shaded camping sites, visitors to Blowing Springs Campground will be amazed by the phenomenon for which this site is named. A unique geological feature creates a duct that blows air out of the rocks at a constant 58 degrees, which may feel warm or cool depending on the season. Direct access to trails leading to swimming holes, and a stream stocked with trout are a few of the many reasons to visit this campground.
In Warm Springs, VA, at the intersection of State Rt. 39 and US Rt. 220, take Rt. 39 west 9.5 miles to campground on the left.
Quiet campground with a picturesque river flowing beside it. Very peaceful place to stay. No phone service is a plus if you are trying to "get away". Unfortunately the dump station is shut down, the road through the campground is in need of gravel and the grass was high 6" - 7" during our visit. Saw a couple of snakes while out walking. Tall grass makes it very inviting for the snakes and concerning when kids are out playing. I will stay again but hope that more attention is directed at maintaining the campground.
Extremely well maintained campground, I would just give a word of caution that you should make sure to fill up before you hit the national park area as it’s very remote. Great stocked trout stream and there’s some great fishing beyond the tiny trout I was catching.
Love this campground. Beautiful location right in the middle of all the great mountain bike trails. Friendly staff. The wireless is absolutely amazing, I was able to stream Youtube TV all week.
Primitive campground but does have outhouses
Beautiful creek and swimming holes
If there was signage to direct you down the trail or any way to pay other than cash on site I'd give it 5 stars
Great experience for self discovery, I camped 2 nights by myself and it was an amazing experience.
