Single Tree Campground is one of about 6 campgrounds along scenic highway 12. One thing to keep in mind is that it is at 8,200 ft and about 15° cooler than down at the valley floor. There was plenty of spaces as we went in May. Several of the other campgrounds were still closed. Snow was further up the mountain from us. Sandy the host is very friendly.

The campground sits between both Escalante and Capital Reef Parks. It is a good location if you want to hit them both.

Just across from the host campsite there's a trail that leads down to the Single Tree falls. It's about a half a mile and is fairly steep, but worth the hike.

Sandy is the camp host. She is one of the most caring people we have ever met in a campground. Very very friendly, and would do anything for anyone! Our travel trailer, blue some fuses, and she brought us replacements. We just grew to love her. The campground is absolutely beautiful. In the trees and distanced from one another. Also, the hike to the waterfall is absolutely magnificent. It’s like opening up to a whole New World along the hike. So so pretty. We highly recommend this campground. And it is so close to Capitol reef!

Loved this campground. Went over Labor Day and the weather was amazing. If you like cool mornings, highs in the upper 60s, and a smaller quaint campground you will love it. Sandy is amazing.

Singletree is a particularly beautiful campground with a combination of Ponderosa and Juniper forests and meadows. The amenities are amazing; clean flush toilets, many group camp sites, and regular camp sites with plenty of room. They also have a dump station ($10). Every site has a table and a fire pit. There is a steep, half mile trail that leads to a waterfall. Best of all, the camp hostess could not be nicer or more helpful!

Our family stayed here for 2 nights on our RV trip. The camp host was nice and the bathrooms were clean. We had a beautiful spacious spot right by a little stream. It was quiet and very peaceful. We loved staying at this campground. We drove to Capitol Reef and the drive was not long. FYI: we stayed here the second week of June and it gets chilly so bring a sweater but the stars are worth staying up in the cold nights.
