Single Tree Campground is one of about 6 campgrounds along scenic highway 12. One thing to keep in mind is that it is at 8,200 ft and about 15° cooler than down at the valley floor. There was plenty of spaces as we went in May. Several of the other campgrounds were still closed. Snow was further up the mountain from us. Sandy the host is very friendly.

The campground sits between both Escalante and Capital Reef Parks. It is a good location if you want to hit them both.

Just across from the host campsite there's a trail that leads down to the Single Tree falls. It's about a half a mile and is fairly steep, but worth the hike.
