It's the best. If you're a climber, this place is for you. It is first come first serve but I visited in late June and there was no problem finding a spot. The price is $16 per night.
It is car camping but you might need to walk 2-3 minutes to your site depending on which one you choose.
Once you set up camp there are dozens of wonderful jaw dropping multi pitch climbs within a 20 minute walk.
The majority of the climbs are trad and rather difficult to be honest. Only a couple climbs are beginner friendly but if you've got some experience under your harness or are traveling with an experienced leader then this place really can't be beat. It's almost as epic as Yosemite but with significantly less people and traffic.
Nice little campground. Mostly empty on a Monday in mid-July. Lovers Leap is lovely. Great short hikes. Only problem is some road noise from the highway.
If they would upgrade to flush toilets, I'd rate this place 5 stars. It's not a mainstream campground in my opinion. It caters primarily to rock climbers.
Dave and Elizabeth were lovely hosts! Everything was clean and well kept. A beautiful place to visit.
