What a great place!! Excellent food, clean rooms, and a nice lobby for lounging with a pool table. We had four rooms and all ages from children to adults loved this little lodge. If you're heading to Valdez or Kennicott, this is a great stop to rest and recharge!
Just went for the food. Good service, ethnic Russian dishes served to perfection. I plan on returning and sample more of her meals.
Do not let the looks fool you! My husband and I stayed at the lodge for three days in July 2021. We had a suite and it was very clean and comfortable. The Russian food at the restaurant was fabulous. We were even there on a day the restaurant was closed and they still cooked for us since we were staying with them. Their service was fabulous! On of our best stays while traveling Alaska!
Never have been more pleasantly surprised in my life. In the middle of nowhere Alaska, I had the best meal of my life. Worked in the restaurant industry for a very long time and everything was perfect. This place is a must stop on the way to Valdez. Traditional Russian food all made from a vibrant Russian family. Only a matter of time til food network is here.
It had an amazing atmosphere, the food was really good and the staff is super friendly. I love everything about this place, I recommend so highly. Beautiful scenery, great rooms, and there is a historic hotel not in use next to it. This is not an eyesore, but rather the opposite. I loved looking at the historical building. There is also great authentic Russian decor and restaurant.
