ABSOLUTELY AMERICA'S WORST !!!!!!!
Denali Rainbow RV Park
We stayed for 3 nights in this RV Park in a 36 ft RV at 50 amp site.
The park is nestled in a charmingly quaint city just outside the national park, boasting a modest selection of around 40 stores. Interestingly enough, our RV was parked mere ~5 feet away from 2 of these establishments.
Being close to the kitchen and dishwashing stations of nearby restaurants and stores was an unexpected perk of choosing this park in addition to views of restaurant employees doing dishes or packing garbage. It led to some rather entertaining encounters with friendly store employees who didn't hesitate to strike up a conversation. Fortunately, we didn't have to worry about any thefts or unpleasant incidents during our stay.
The park employees, however, displayed a mix of attitudes. One of the initial ladies we encountered was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. When we made a mistake with our reservations, the staff readily helped us rectify the situation. On the other hand, we encountered a rather grumpy employee who wasn't willing to grant us an extra hour on the day of the departure even though the park was ¾ empty so that i could finish a work call.
The whole park is very small and each site is pretty cramped, so maneuvering around is a pain and there is barely any water pressure. While there is paid WiFi, don’t expect it to work efficiently.
The bathrooms in this facility leave much to be desired, with poor ventilation and maintenance. However, for those who find themselves in dire need of a shower, there's a solution at hand—simply purchase shower tokens( $5 per token, longer showers need 2-3 tokens). The campground offers two shower stations, along with one toilet and one urinal. The good news is that using the toilet doesn't come with any charges! :-)
As for the wash station, it's quite small and using it might require a neck as flexible as that of an owl!
In terms of location and how the park is designed and located, this definitely is America’s worst in my limited experience of traveling between Key West and Alaska.
On hindsight, we should have extended our stay at Teklanika campground inside Denali or completely canceled and moved to Denali Grizzly Bear resort.
Terrible place. At 8am, there was no toilet paper in the one toilet they had, nor were there paper towels to dry your hands. You have to pay for showers. The place is all gravel, like a parking lot and we paid $65 US. Don't make the same mistake as us, book in Denali park ahead of time so you don't get stuck here.
The good, surrounded by beautiful mountains. Close to Denali National Park entrance. The truth, Basically a gravel parking lot squeezed between shops and a gas station. Called for a pull through with full service and was charged for that. After looking at the site (not a pull through), they said that they had pull through sites with basic service. However, they would not refund the additional fees that were paid 5 minutes ago! They were very courteous when telling me what they would not do for me. Very poorly managed. Still waiting for contact from the manager. Go somewhere else if possible!
Genesis was the best she is super nice and told us all the cool things to do in and around the park! I give her 10 stars! Price is around $60 night, good location right behind the shops so it’s convenient. They are pretty strict with their rules on check and check out but over all good experience. Thank you!
This is a great place to stay near the entrance to Denali National Park. We stayed with our 3 kids and it gave us plenty of space and easy access to food and to the park. The accommodations are a little dated, but perfectly comfortable and clean. We would definitely stay here again.
