The Tiny T Ranch is a private WORKING RANCH ten minutes east of the Austin airport and twenty minutes from South Austin. Your host, Spike Gillespie, is a rancher, writer and artist. If you need an inside scoop on Austin, she can help you out. You’ll meet all sorts of livestock: longhorns, donkeys, mini donkeys, mini goats, sheep, chickens, potbellied pigs, dogs, cats, horses and an overly confident duck named Bill.
I attended a wedding 💒 at this venue over the weekend and it was a very beautiful place. The chapel looked beautiful. The reception venue on the property was just the right size to hold a big party .
We have had many wonderful experiences at the Tiny T, from a stay in our RV to staying in the main house to multiple events in the Molly Ivins Pavilion. This ranch is a build-your-own-adventure kind of place, limited only by your imagination.
We celebrated our wedding at Tiny T twice, and each time was wonderful. The first time around, we had a private elopement and Spike helped us put together a wonderful, personally meaningful ceremony. It was certainly a bright spot amidst the stress and turmoil of COVID.
More recently, we hosted a celebration of our marriage at Tiny T’s, and it was the perfect venue for that experience! The property is so unique and very much our style, and our guests had a wonderful time. We appreciated the flexibility of the space - we ended up moving our reception outside, and were able to fit a very spacious tent that held all of our tables and our dance floor.
Spike and her team are an absolute joy to work with - they are responsive and friendly, and helped to make our wedding planning feel seamless and as low stress as possible. Spike did a wonderful job officiating, and really did our ceremony and our relationship justice.
This is a more DIY venue, but it’s a beautiful backdrop to build your celebration on. We couldn’t have been happier with our experience at Tiny T.
Spike and her team created the rehearsal dinner of our dreams (and then officiated our wedding the next day!). Everyone felt so welcomed and appreciated, cuddled up in Texas-Southern hospitality, and my guests are still exclaiming to me about how much they love Spike!
I was contemplating the idea of a US-based destination wedding (I’m in Wisconsin) when I came across photos of a past wedding at Tiny T Ranch. I instantly fell in love, and my wedding planning began! There were some hiccups along the way (as destination weddings would expect!). But both in our planning prep trip last April and at the final event in October, the ranch always felt like such a special place.
Spike is part of what makes the ranch so special. She brings the energy and magic, and the beauty of Texas brings the rest. She was always available and full of positivity. I felt such an immediate connection with her. If our best friend wasn’t officiating, we would have asked her to in a heartbeat.
We’re nearing our 1 year wedding anniversary, and it brings me such joy to remember how special the day was, along with our extended stay on the ranch. If you are an old, feisty, artsy or wandering soul, this place is for you.
