This recreation area is part of O.C. Fisher Lake
Very well maintained and safe campground. Great place to take it slow and walk/hike/run/bike the trails. Saw wild turkey, deer, and skunk.
We enjoyed this park. We had a pull through camp spot with water and electric. There was plenty of blooming cactus all around us. We also had a beautiful view of the sunsets. They have a bison viewing drive through area. Close to stores, gas and restaurants.
Nice campground. Large, spread out sites. When booking it showed the place full but for one site (not one I would have chosen!) Not true; the place was more than half empty the whole time there. Pros: lots of places to walk, close to San Angelo. Con: very little water in reservoir, barking dog next door the whole time, never ending wind. We would stay again.
Bathrooms have hot water showers and flush toilets. Lots of campsites. All have covered concrete tables, BBQ stands, fire pits, 30,50 amp electric, and fresh water hookups. We saw deer, turkeys, skunks, hogs, and a bobcat. Lots of birds.
