This place is really nice and would get five stars but...

Since the older gentleman with the overalls passed away the people running this place need some serious help. Both six grade math and standard customer service are lacking by at least one of the staff. I told the woman three times my friends I was camping with checked in the night before. She kept insisting I had to stay at the other site we had and the person who's name it was in had not checked in yet. So I had to either pay for the other site or wait for them to show up. I did not have enough cash (cash only) to pay for the site. So they sent me back into town in Rio Vista to go to the ATM. I drive back and return. I am then informed my friend at the other site has shown up and is inside the park, but because it was 1:15 and check in is 2:00 I have to pay for the site with an early check in fee OR pay $2.00 for the day fee and come back at 2:00. I had$2.00 the entire time. I could have just gone in!!!

But wait....there's more.

We go back at 2:00 to pay for the site. My friend pays for the site and they say it will be $6.00 for me. So I pay the $6.00. My other friends from the first site that checked in the night before saw me handing her money. They informed me they had already paid for me; and for three nights even though I would only be there for one. So at this point I have been paid for to the tune of seven nights total. When I mentioned to the woman I had already been paid for she got upset with us!!! Remember I tried three times telling her before I paid anything that I was with the people that had already checked in.

It was so frustrating I just walked away and let them keep the extra money,

We go out there often enough with he boat we are now looking into leasing a campsite down the road at an annual rate. Where you get a 1/2 acre or more in size of riverfront property. Johnson County needs to get some competent people to run this place.

We had a blast as usual on our annual Easter camping trip! As always the park was clean & the bathrooms were clean. We were even treated to a few bluebonnets scattered around the area. This park has the best management of any park I've been to. We've been coming to Hamm Creek for probably a decade now, and I have never seen it as busy as it was this past weekend. Apparently Google reviews really work 😆

Underrated and not overly crowded.... This is the only public River access in the area and the park has lots of access points. Nice covered aluminum picnic tables, well maintained grassy areas, playground, bathrooms and easily accessible parking. RV and tent camping with fire pits close to covered picnic tables.

Had a Men's 33 study of Jesus Christ 33 years on earth! Great place this park has everything you need. Cost was great for everyone had over 25 men sharing the Word of God and his love for us through his Son Jesus Christ. Amen

Gorgeous! Couldn’t believe the scenery was real. I felt like I was in a post card.
