Primitive campsite that's off the Eagle's Roost Trail
Great spot, great view. Fun hike to it, a definite spot to put your tent.
Great free camping space a two hours' hike away from the cedar bayou marina. Sits atop a small cliff, and overlooks lake texoma.
It's worth the hike. There is a small site at the point....but, the larger established site before you get to the point is much more accommodating.
Hiked from Rock Creek Marina to Eagle's Roost today on the Cross Timbers Trail. Fun hike. Trail was in great shape. The view from Eagle's Roost was great and a good place for a break. Nice breeze as it was getting pretty warm.
This is a neat place to camp if you don't mind the hike in. Quite a few trees down on the path once off the main trail so a little hard to find...trail drifts to the west on the way in. Great views of the lake--beautiful in the morning. Limited tent space so beware of taking large groups here. Up on a ridge so definitely exposed in a North wind.
