Note: Due to high elevation, the area is not generally snow-free until late June or even July in some years. The road typically isn't plowed, so early and late season conditions may impact accessibility
About 5 miles in and 5 miles out of nothing but beautiful Mountain View’s and beautiful wildflowers. Such a cool hike!
Just a fun side note: Be sure to get there at or before 4am to guarantee a spot if you plan on summiting both peaks. We arrived at 4:30 and just barely found a spot to park.
Enjoy the hike!!😁
The road to the trailhead is rough and rocky, best suited for a 4x4 but some cars were there. Parking is limited and best be there early 5:30 - 7 am. We overnighted in our 4RUNNER. I started early at 4 am because of my age, 70. I have to take it slow. It was difficult but I made it to the top of Mt. Torrey but my body said no to Gray. 🙂 It was a great climb and the views were amazing. Met some great people along the way.
You need to have a vehicle with good clearance and be there early to get a spot in the parking lot. Amazing hike, highly recommend.
Amazing experience, if you don't mind hiking down at night yo can catch an amazing sunset here. If you catch some light snow during sunset it looks like it's raining cherry blossoms, and you get the top all to your self
