Information about what types of sites are available at each campground, including the maximum RV length of a site, is available on our reservations website. Please keep in mind that our campgrounds fill spring, summer and fall weekends, so plan ahead – or come during the week! We hope you have a wonderful camping trip in Larimer County!

March 1 - October 31: Sites can be reserved from 180 days to 1 day in advance of the arrival date at www.larimercamping.com or by calling the reservation call center at 1-800-397-7795. We love coming here! We try to come during the week when its lets packed. We only pay $9 for the park pass. The ranger and the staff go around to check for parking passes on your vehicle, we did see a ranger going around putting tickets on vehicles without parking passes. Make sure you have life jackets on your paddle boards or kayaks because the ranger does come around and check for those. It's pretty rocky, make sure you bring your watershoes!

Been coming here for a few years now. Good trails to explore to the west and south. Flatiron Res and Pinewood Res are nearby and also lovely. Southside campground at Carter is the busiest, but the others are great, too. And it can be easier to score a reservation. No same day online reservations allowed. For that, you have to go to the main office, about 2 miles north of the carter lake marina, by Flatiron Reservoir.

This campground is awesome! The spots to camp are clean and well kept and everyone was very respectful. We were one of the furthest from the lake but it was still very easy to get the kayaks down to the water. The people working there are very nice and they take good care of the grounds. The grass was a little long for the season but it did just rain for like 2 weeks. Bathrooms were VERY clean which is rare. Will definitely come back!
