Good campground with great parking. Decent stalls. Has electrical but no sewage and have to get water from creek. Has rental cabins and bathrooms.

We stayed at French Creek Horse Camp while hiking the 124 mile Centennial Trail and it was by far our favorite spot. Gorgeous camping along French creek with a resident buffalo and baby mountain goat. But it was the people there that made it special. Sonja, the camp host, was just wonderful. She directed us to a fresh water source and even offered us freeze pops as it was an extremely hot day. Sonja made us feel so very welcome. All the horse campers were friendly, facility was clean and well kept. Highly recommended!

Enjoyed French Creek Horse Camp. Shower house very nice and clean. Had a lone Buffalo go through camp one morning. The trails and scenery incredible. My fave trails were to Heddy Draw and Badger Hole.

The camp hosts, Sonja and James, are a an extremely nice and kind couple. They warm-heartedly helped us out in a night when we were in need. They do have a heart of gold. We’re truly grateful for their help.

The campsite itself is for campers with horses only. It is well maintained and the restroom is sparklingly clean — much better than any of the other state park campsite we’ve seen. I’m sure Sonja and James must have put in a lot of time and sweat keeping this site in such great condition.

thanks again Sonja and James. We love you.

Camped here 15 years ago and not much has changed. Still have to haul water and horses still have to stand in the sun up top. Would be nice if bedding was available. Bathrooms and showers were always clean and in good repair. Trails are poorly marked and don't coincide with map. GPS is a valuable tool. Scenery is spectacular.
