"Stayed on our route from MI to Alaska (Fairbanks, Anchorage, Seward, Denali), and again on our return route. Owners/hosts were very hospitable, so friendly and charming. We shopped in the adorable gift shop, did our laundry, washed our RV, and had their enfamous sourdough pancake breakfast at their quaint Cafe. Had a wonderful visit!! Highly recommend this campground." - Chris (Trip Advisor)
From jct 2 (Alaska Hwy) & Hwy 1 (Glenn Hwy): Go 1-1/4 mi S on Hwy 1.
We stayed at Sourdough Campground on two separate occasions on our trip from FL. Tim, Tracey and the staff were wonderful and made us feel like family! We had a blast and doing the pancake toss and won a free breakfast!
Perfect RV/campsite to stop in after crossing the boarder. Good place to refresh before heading deep into Alaska.
Sites are level and separated by a good line of trees. Good privacy for an RV park.
Central cabin has wash facilities and bathrooms/showers. 3 showers and are nice and hot PLUS untimed! This is a welcome experience for travelers to take time to relax and wash up.
Gift shop has a lot of nice goodies from clothing to one off items. There's even a small section of RV parts.
Towards the back of the lot there's a RV/car wash station as well.
Atmosphere felt very friendly from the patrons to the ownership. One big happy place I'd say. We will certainly be back on our return trip down South.
Beautiful Campground and a wonderful staff. The wash houses and laundry rooms are clean neat and well kept. And the walkthrough Museum of the area history is quite Charming.
Update: Definitely one of the best campgrounds so far. The biscuits and gravy and pancakes are very good and you can even get a chance to get a free breakfast if you win the pancake toss which is held every night. Restrooms and showers are clean with plenty of hot water. Laundry room is always functional and cleaned. Campsites are roomy and spacious and you never feel like you're on top of somebody. There are so many trees around it's just like living in the woods with a group of Happy campers. I don't say it very often but this Campground and the Sourdough Cafe get two thumbs up.
