About Campground

Snyder’s Family Campground (Formerly known as “Kearse Campground”) is located in Gaines Township, Tioga County, home of the PA Grand Canyon and one of the most beautiful areas of the PA Wilds!

Our campground is nestled in a valley between two mountain ranges, within walking distance to Pine Creek, with some of the finest fishing in PA!

There are also plenty of other outdoor activities such as hunting (deer, turkey, bear and small game) with hundreds of acres of state game land nearby, skiing (Oregon Hill), hiking (miles of rails to trails), snowmobiling & atvs ( trails just minutes away), horseback riding (along Pine Creek on the rails to trails) rafting (down through the canyon), canoeing , star-gazing at Cherry Springs Dark Skies and much more!

Park was nice, very quiet. The owner was very accommodating to us in planning our trip. We only used the "older" bathhouse and they weren't bad. We used the handicapped showers and they were nice, just wish there was a toilet in there too. Prices are reasonable, nice park to walk around with the ponds. We saw lots of birds including some hawks. Would definitely stay again.

It was a nice, clean, friendly experience for our Memorial Day weekend trip. The tent camping site we were in was flat, mowed, and rock-less. The owners were very friendly and helpful. On-site ice and firewood was very reasonably priced. The restrooms, while dated, were among the cleanest I have seen at any campground.

All in all, it was a fantastic experience.

Not as advertised. Poor customer service. OWNER SHARED MY SIGNATURE ON SOCIAL MEDIA! There are much better campgrounds just 1/4 mile away from this place. Kids were walking through our site after we were there only the 4.5 hours. Sites, aside of the permanent ones, are one on top of the other. We were not “hiding” the dogs, it was 90 degrees, we checked in at 2:00, I was working till 5:00, so the dogs stayed inside with me, we ate dinner and talked about if we wanted to stay, make the best of your place or find a better campground. I had my vaccine certificates sent to me before we left by my house sitter but had already decided this was not a good place. We were VERY OPEN WITH Crooked Creek why we needed a place to stay and they were VERY WELCOMING!!! And I also traveled there inside the RV, not the truck!! We were told the 2 WI-FI vouchers were all we got if we needed additional we had to “purchase” internet. Stay at own risk

Wish our experience was a fraction of the 5-star reviews previously posted. We heard good things about this place and decided to swing by and have a look. Unfortunately, we were approached by a woman in a golf cart that was clearly disturbed by our presence. Rather than listen to why we were there, she started making accusations and told us to leave. Im glad we experienced that before booking our stay. Plenty of other places in the area with nice people that are welcoming.

Loved that we were able to rent a camper for the weekend! It was very relaxing. Pretty central location to many activities, the PA Grand Canyon and Cherry Springs are both nearby. We would definitely stay here again!
