The ranch is a beautifully well kept community of cowboys and cowgirls. They were all more than friendly and we had a great time. However, the rustic cabin we were rented needed maintenance and a desperate mold treatment. It was very smelly inside, one of the blankets had a mud stain, and there was trash littered about the grounds outside plus a lot of mud (it’s been a rainy year). The beds however were comfortable. We cleaned up and the only issue left was the mud and the smell. I thoroughly enjoyed waking up to the horses and beautiful yellow flowers in the field next to the cabin, and the beautiful silence that is nature. Next time, i would rent the wrangler cabin or choose a rustic camping site, as those are more grassy. We also enjoyed our trail ride! The horses are beautifully trained and our wrangler took very good care of my two daughters who had never ridden before. 4 stars only due to the condition of the cabin, but a 5 star stay!
My family has been going to Smoke Rise for over 10 years now. In 2020, I got a spinal cord injury, and I was afraid I would never be able to ride a horse again, but last weekend Smoke Rise worked with me to get me back on a horse and riding safely. The horse they selected for me was able to adjust its gate to compensate for my lack of balance. The experience overall was incredible. It gave me the confidence that I can start doing something I love more consistently again. My family has been recommending Smoke Rise Ranch to everyone that will listen. We couldn’t recommend it enough.
Firstly, I’d like to say that the people in charge were nice. But from there the experience was downhill. We paid $50 to ride the night ride, however we weren’t even told by anyone that meal was included in the price. So we missed that. It was raining so we just rode on the road. Not at all what I was expecting.
We payed $75 to stay in a rustic cabin, which was not awful, however the shower house was disgusting no toilet paper, no paper towels, no water to shower, nor did toilets flush. Way too much money to charge for a night for these types of accommodations. Trails are not clearly marked and you’re basically forced to hire a guide. The roads to every place needs gravel and potholes filled, our stuff got covered in mud. This place could be absolutely amazing if some TLC was put into it. But again, the wranglers were super nice.
I love this place! The rustic cabins are exactly what you need to unplug for a little while. Nearby bathrooms with showers on one side and a ton of horses to choose from on the other!
Take a ride on some scenic trails with a skilled wrangler by your side ready to ensure you have a great time! I highly recommend a trip to get away from the hustle and bustle.
Remember to kiss your horse and tip your wrangler
My girlfriend and I had such a wonderful experience riding with Dave and Ida along different, interesting trails, and we also really enjoyed our first experience with the cattle drive. We went through beautiful scenery, got to meet and ride on beautiful, sweet horses, and we learned so much from Dave and Ida's knowledge, professionalism and expertise. We appreciate all the patience while teaching us and for taking really good care of us during our trail rides. The horses are also very well taken care of.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful and unforgettable experience! We look forward to visiting again.
