The lake looks nice, and the beach, but everything looks like it hasn't been fixed or cleaned or painted in 30+ years, including all of the campers there. I only saw two open sites that had electric, most of the sites had nothing at all - more like a parking lot or drive-in movie spot. Lots of debris scattered around. I wasn't even comfortable driving through, much less camping overnight. Would not ever return.
We went to see about the prices through the winter. The older man was nice took us on a tour, his wife had recently past, so he said thats why things are a little mishandled. It was nice to see the campgrounds but the tour was over an hour long! That being said this campground looked like it was so much fun back in its day. But now its really ran down and charging 500 a month on an off season when you can not swim or fish was totally insane, well to me it is. And I was rubbed the wrong way when he mentioned if we were to stay we would have to move someone else camper out of the way! Yea needless to say we hightailed it out of there.
It's really a good place. The owners are pretty old, so yes, things have gone into disrepair. However, their grandsons have stepped up, and are here daily trying to get it back together. There are some permanent residents, but everyone is really nice, and the grandsons are not putting up with any mess. I highly recommend!
If they fix the drive and take out the empty campers would be 100 times better But absolutely love the community
