From North Bend, Oregon, travel north on Highway 101 for 6 miles to Hauser Depot Road. Turn west and proceed 1/4 mile. Turn left on Sandy Way.
This would be better described as dune access point although sand camping is available in some locations scattered throughout the dune area. If you enter to the left you have several tall dunes and worm trails ending at horsefal or boxcar.
Enter to the right and you find out what the meaning of the words woops road means but if you survive this fun time of up 3' down 3' every 6' you'll end up in a 13 mile by 2 miles of something for everyone, fantastic worm trails access to the beach, open dunes and sand roads.
This area is best used by off-road motorcycles, quads, side by side and 4x4's. (note tires and air pressure make a huge difference on how much fun or work your going to have). Over all this is a great place to have fun. ( Caution this fun can be dangerous and should be experienced with people who are aware of the danger's and how to avoid them.)
In short one of the best places in Oregon to spend time.
These dunes have everything! Tree shoots, thrails, beach access, and nothing beats V8 hill!! Kid friendly
Location is everything! So much closer to where we like to ride compared to Boxcar or Horsfal. We don't mind dry dock, it's fine for us. We didn't have to level, that was shocking in itself. We'll be back! Oh, and very clean portapotty available to us if needed.
