Beautiful spot on the Shenandoah River… You will see eagles, deer, ospreys, beaver and numerous other critters. Great fishing, boating and swimming not to mention the views. Lots of local cuisine and pubs. Flea markets and BBQ on the roadside and for those who dare the casino and horse racing!!!
We have kayaks, canoes and tubes available for rent. Fishing and flat water paddling from property and shuttle pickup. Water available. Fantastic views of wildlife!
When on River Haven Drive, we are the 5th house on the right.
So, yes, our afternoon trip was after Labor Day (not too crowded), and the weather was slightly cloudy and kept the heat down, which was a welcome relief. And, yes, the water level is way down on the river, but you know what? There's a lot to be said for putting 6 people in a small river raft and everyone having to work together, getting to meet new people and enjoy conversation.
The staff is friendly and our raft driver/guide Kai, was fun and we had a good time with him on the water. Don't judge him on his Dad jokes, please. The good thing about his humor- he doesn't have to read the room...
Highly recommend the opportunity to enjoy rafting, kayaking or tubing the rivers. Good times!
Absolutely wonderful activity. Perfect weather. Love the shuttle so when you finish tubing you arrive at your car. Great for kids too, we just didn't bring our tiny babes!
For my birthday, my boyfriend and I went kayaking with River and Trail. This was my first time kayaking so, I did t know what to expect. But everything went really well and it was a beautiful day!
Customer Service: The staff was great! Friendly and helpful, I had to call a few times while we were kayaking because I was forgot a few directions but they were understanding and helped me quickly.
Kayaking: Amazing! If you’ve never been, do it! It’s so calm and relaxing. My boyfriend had to guide me on how to paddle but, once I got it, it was easy to do.
I do wish we were give more directions or a map and there were little markers on the sides of the river that told you how far you were along the trail. But other than that, I have no complaints. I definitely recommend this company! 5/5 and it’s close to harpers ferry!
Had a great experience tubing on the river! All of the staff were super helpful in explaining the process and making sure we got on the bus with our cooler. They had bathrooms and changing rooms on site. I came with a big group of girlfriends and we had such a blast. Make sure to get the ties to connect tubes together, makes sure that everyone stays together! Great value, will definitely be back soon!
Fall 2023 The river was really low so we had to get out in places to get over the rocks, footwear is mandatory for a reason - the rocks are sharp in places! R&T was great, they have a place to hold your keys but stop at the gas station before if you don't want to use a port-a-potty.
Suggestion: Rent the 'cooler tube' - R&T please post a photo! - I thought it was just a tube to go round a square cooler but it is actually a very nice cooler raft with a bottom! Would have made our trip a lot better.
