Did not camp, but went with a group that rented rafts and kayaks for a float trip. The store on site has lots to offer, souvenirs, apparel/accessories, snacks, drinks, etc. They have busses that take you to the drop off point on the river and then pick you up at the take out site. The rental boats were clean and well kept.

Go once every year with my friends and family and it never disappoints! Some times the water is lower than other times we visit so you may need to paddle more or less depending on when you visit (but it's a good workout).

We stayed at Shady Beach for Labor Day weekend. Although I hate to leave negative reviews, I must say we will not return. On Sunday, we spent time at the beach hoping to relax. It was anything but relaxing. We couldn’t visit with one another for the Latin music blaring from the taco stand. On top of that, a canopy next to us blew over and scratched our truck. No big deal accidents happen. Trying to be good neighbors. We took down the canopy and folded it neatly so that it would not be damaged. Apparently the owner of the canopy was the gentleman who runs the taco stand. He made a scene and tried to order us off the beach. All in all it was not a good experience.

I’ve never stayed in the cabins but every year we camp and float at least once and it is always a blast. Everyone there are very sweet and great to deal with. Clean bathrooms is my must so this place gets my vote every year.
