Great campground. All staff are very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms and portapotties are kept very clean. Has primitive campsites directly on the water. Canoe rental was affordable and easy, good equipment. Great place, we'll definitely be back!
I took my 4 year old grandson camping. The first time for either of us! I barrowed a tent from a friend and couldn't figure out how to set it up.. I asked the office if someone could help me and at least 7/8 of their employees showed up to help us!! I will forever be greatful to them for helping my grandson and I have the most perfect 1st camping experience!!!
Well, the website was misleading. For $416. We were in a cabin for 2 nights. For an extra $60 a day we could use the giant slip and slide. (The kids loved it) The river was not deep enough to swim. No shade at all on the river Bank. The cabin was okay. My man had to fix one of the chairs when we first arrived as it was literally falling apart. The air conditioner was not working properly. the "firepit" was a ground level circle of baseball sized rocks, the bbq grill was a rusted mess. The picnic table belonged in a burn pile as boards were warped and pulled loose. The playground was falling apart, my grandson repaired some boards thst had fallen off the ladder to the slide.
We did not opt for canoe rental so I can't give a review on that, but I am thankful we did not as I did not bring a pail in case of a sinking boat.
When we spoke to them about the misleading information on the website. "That's not our deal" was the response....okay?
We stayed (absolutely no refunds, says so right on the website!!)and made the best of it.
The humming birds were beautiful!! Not so much the hornets that shared our cabin... wish they would have paid their half!!!
We stayed here during the week Monday and Tuesday nights in early August. The campground was nice and the spaces were ample. The sites aren't purposely leveled so sites 14, 15, and 16 are probably closer to level for RVs. We were disappointed that the slide is not open on Tuesdays and that the info wasn't available on the website when we booked. The slide was fun for the kids though. We spent Tuesday at the river instead and that was great. The workers delivered our rented tubes to our spot and also brought a big umbrella to bring some shade. We got ice cream at the camp store multiple times as well. I would stay there again!
Absolutely loved Mountain Creek before this last summer. The managers and staff were awesome but the cabins were horrible. We tried to take our side by side onto the gravel bar and were told we couldn't but for some reason others could. Make it make sense please. No food on site anymore. I just don't understand what happened...
