My family's first camping trip was to Long Shoal Campground! I couldn't have picked a better location. The campground was clean, quiet, well maintained and beautiful hook ups. You can't go wrong picking a spot on the water or in the more woodsy spots. Dog friendly!

I love this campground, its one of the best in Henry/Benton County area of Missouri.. I highly recommend it.. has clean shower house,, there are restrooms close to your camp site . Some camp sites have a beautiful view of the lake. Planning another trip here soon...

This was definitely worth the drive. We were meeting up with a few other campers. There wasn’t anyone at the booth when we arrived a little before 4pm, but the sign had instructions on early check-Ins. Basically, if there isn’t someone still in your spot, you can check in early. Otherwise, check in is at 6pm.

My only real complaint here was the lack of signage on each loop. We pulled in to the first loop looking for our spots (040, 043, & 045) but the first loop wasn’t ours. Pulled into the next loop and found them. Other than the pole markers at each individual spot, there’s no signs telling you which numbers are down each loop. Better signage would prevent confusion in the future.

Our trailer sizes were from 33’ to about 40’. Each of us were able to back our campers in with ease and no obstructions. Most spots are fairly level but are gravel so some require additional leveling than others.

There aren’t a lot of electric hookup spots here and I believe all are 30amp. There are no water hookups but there is a fill station and water spouts located in various parts of the grounds.

The grounds were very well kept! Lawns were mowed but there was still enough trees and natural landscaping that keeps the “camping” feel alive. If you’re lucky enough to get a water view, the views are stunning. This isn’t an overpopulated lake, so you’re looking at a pristine glass-like lake surface in the mornings. Absolutely beautiful.

The beach is really large! Not a lot of shade but nothing that a beach umbrella or canopy wouldn’t fix.

The ramp (if you’re dropping in) is easy to find and well marked. Parking is plentiful for boat trailers.

Marina Restaurant :

We always bring plenty of food when camping but some friends suggested that we try out the Long Shoal Marina restaurant. Our first night here we had heard they were doing a seafood buffet special so we tried it out. The parking is a little ways from the restaurant but there is also closer parking for disabled and people over 65. My kids enjoyed the walk down the bridge anyway.

The facility is well kept, clean, and the staff is friendly. For the buffet, they required that you sanitize hands and then place food service gloves on before handling serving utensils (sanitizer and gloves are provided). If buffet isn’t your thing, they also have a regular menu (see menu pictures). There is also a selection of alcoholic drinks available. The indoor/outdoor seating options are a really nice touch!

We enjoyed the buffet and my kids enjoyed mini corn dogs and fries. Everyone was pleased with their food.

Marina store: within the same building as the restaurant, there’s a small store with various items for sale.

We’ve already talked about booking future spots here. This is now in my top three favorite camping locations. Well done, Long Shoal!

Camped there for a week in a tent and it was absolutely wonderful... The staff are so nice and the bathrooms are always clean, the park looks so beautiful. And you can walk right down to the water

Let me say that I'm not hard to please in a campground. I don't need bells and whistles so amenities are just a plus. I stayed in a site with water and electric hook ups and they both worked. The site was large so the neighbors were not on top of us. You could only see the water through the trees but even the sites "on the water" didn't have good water access.

We did not use the restrooms so I cannot say how they were. The playground looked nice. There were lots of dogs so I would say it is dog friendly.
