My wife and I were on a motorcycle touring ride through the States. This was not supposed to be a stop. But I kept smelling something that was really aromatic, smelled really good. I had not smelled such a thing before. So we stopped. To my suprise, it was the pine trees here. These are Ponderosa Pines, and they don't have the typical pine smell (think Pine Sol) that regular pine trees have. They have a unique, aromatic, wonderful smell. They also grow in spirals as you can see from the fallen trees.
Quick loop to the viewpoints overlooking the canyon. There isn't much of a clearing to see a lot because of all of the trees but still beautiful nonetheless.
