My family and I stayed here for almost 2 weeks. Everyone is very friendly and the price was excellent. The trees are beautiful and color changing. The facilities are clean. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

Loved this place! My husband mountain bikes so we wanted to find a place close to Angel Fire but without Angel Fire prices. It was quieter and more peaceful than any other park we've been to. Lots of trees and shade and room between sites. We had to arrive late in the evening because of vehicle troubles on the way, and when I called to let them know they said that was no problem at all and we could check in any time or even the next day if needed. Appreciate their kindness and flexibility, will definitely stay again if we're in the area!

Ponil Campground is an older RV Campground with new owners, Lisa and Marie. They are improving every aspect of their park. The bathhouse is newly repainted and spotless, with large showers and plenty of hot water. There is a laundry room on site. All sites have some shade, if not completely shaded.

There are swings + for the kids. Deer walk thru the campground.

Russell’s Grocery Store and gas station are 3 miles away. Cree-mee burgers are wonderful, as is their soft serve ice cream and is next door to Russell’s Grocery.

There is a wildlife preserve in the area as well as the Boy Scouts of America Philmont campground.

We will return to Ponil Campground as long as Lisa and Marie own it.

There is a rental rv on site.

We camped in a 35’ Class A Motorhome.

This place is wonderful. It is super well kept, and has lots of shade. The owners are so awesome and are willing to help with whatever you need. They also have a gift shop, game room, and several activities you can do when you run out of your own. I will definitely be staying here again.
