Popular roadside area near La Sombra Campground and Shady Brook stores with access to Rio Fernando de Taos fishing and trail to "Ice Cave" waterfall
In Taos, NM, at the intersection of State Rts. 68/585 and US Rt. 64, take Rt. 64/585 east 2.1 miles to stop sign at "T" intersection. Turn right at intersection onto Rt. 64 (Enchanted Circle) and go 4.5 miles to campground on right.
Cheap but overgrown a bit and right next to a highway. Not terrible.
THIS WAS A HIDDEN GEM!! IT WAS ONLY $6.00 FOR A LOVELY TREE LINED SITE.
IT SAT RIGHT NEXT TO A SPARKLING FLOWING CREEK.
THERE ARE 11 SITES AND ONLY 3 WERE TAKEN WHEN WE GOT THERE.
WE FELT SAFE ALL NIGHT AND WOULD'VE STAYED LONGER IF WE DIDN'T HAVE OTHER PLANS.
ITS ONLY 6 MILES EAST OF TAOS ON THE ROAD THAT GOES TO ANGEL FIRE.
THIS WAS DEFINITELY ONE OF THE NICEST CAMPING SIRES WE HAVE EVER HAD.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
