About Campground

Sailor Springs is a small three-site campground located just two miles outside of the picturesque tourist town of Bayfield, WI. 2023 will be our first year of operation and we’re excited to host campers on the property and provide a unique camping experience.

The campground is spread out over 5 acres of forest on Bresette Hill Road. After parking at the trailhead, you’ll gather your bags and hike into your glamping site. The trail winds through the woods, leading you first to a valley where the seasonal Clark Creek runs through in the spring. The first two campsites are on the other side of this valley. The trail can be steep in spots and requires a moderate level of fitness and mobility to reach the secluded campsites. The third site is a bit farther into the forest, the little A-frame cabin, Anchor sits on the edge of the spring-fed Brickyard Creek that flows year-round.

Directions

Park at the Trail Head review the trail map and hike into your site. Please keep pets on a leash as there are two other sites and we have a dog as well. Don't forget your bedding or sleeping bag a pillow top queen mattress is provided.

If you love Bayfield and exploring the peninsula or are new and need a home base this is a great place spend your nights! 3 simple yet well executed sites nestled in the woods keeps you away from the crowds and enjoying being close to the city of Bayfield just off the highway and ready to explore or enjoying the firepit and camping.

The most amazing campsite I've ever The fourth setting with a creek running through the property is absolutely stunning, and nothing less than pristine regarding the location of the site... and don't forget to use the Tree Shower. It's nothing short of special.

I'm going to summarize with a prediction rather than go on and on and on about how much I love this place:

Sailor Springs - near Bayfield, WI, will soon be one of the top destinations for camping in the Great Lakes region, if not the entire country. "Loose lips sink ships." they say, and when word gets out about Sailor Springs this place is going to be BOOKED! #toptenlist

Great glamping location only 5 minutes outside of Bayfield! We loved staying in the anchor cabin on the creek which felt totally secluded. The hosts also did a great job of making sure we had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Make sure to remember bug spray!

We found ourselves in Bayfield on a whim looking for someplace to stay. Most of the rooms in the area run $250 - $400 -- way beyond what we wanted to spend.

We stumbled upon "Glamping." It looked like a fun adventure. We booked it in a panic because it was the last reasonably priced place in the area. We then got an email that said "Bring your own sleeping bag." Oh goodness, we're in for a cold night. The owner, Abe, bailed us out and provide a couple of sleeping bags. Much needed and much appreciated.

I think this place is a cool little treat. Something different and well done. Finding unique places like this is where memories are made. Very cool. We wish Abe all the best in his new venture.

The host was very good. He had me double booked so he upgraded me to Anchor (better) Cabin (from tent). And it was wonderful and lovely with this spot and nature.

He provided me with one set of firewood as complimentary. He had a battery lamp and fan for us which was super helpful.

We loved the whole experience. It was more than what we expected. We are grateful to experience this.
